As our gut or GI tract or gastrointestinal tract plays a huge role in several processes like digestion, absorption of nutrients and immune function etc, there is a need for us to improve our gut health. The GI tract would start at the mouth and end at anus in humans. Paying attention to gut health is necessary for both adults as well as for the kids. If not, then there are more chances of getting infections, diseases etc. We can keep our gut health in good shape by eating a well balanced diet plus by maintaining a healthy lifestyle etc.

By consuming vitamins also, we can keep our gut in good health. Various vitamins to eat for the sake of our gut health are

Intake of vitamin A:
Not only vitamin A intake would improve our eyesight and immunity but it would also play a role in gut health. By eating this vitamin, we could regulate the differentiation and integrity of the cells present in the digestive tract. Secondly, we could also ensure proper absorption of nutrients plus prevent harmful substances from entering the bloodstream etc. Various examples of vitamin A rich foods are eggs, liver, fish, veggies like spinach, sweet potatoes, carrots etc

Intake of vitamin B:
For gut health to be good, we must consume vitamin B like vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B9 and B12 etc. It is noteworthy that these vitamins would help in energy production plus in the nerve function and RBC synthesis etc. Truth is that intake of B vitamins would support our gut microbiome. Various foods that are rich in vitamin B are leafy green vegetables, whole grains, legumes etc.

Intake of vitamin C:
Our gut health would get better when we consume vitamin C or water soluble vitamins. The gut lining would get protected from oxidative stress and inflammation by vitamin C that is a powerful antioxidant.  It must be noted that collagen or structural protein would be produced by this vitamin. Intake of vitamin D:
Both bone health as well as gut health would become betted by intake of vitamin D or sunshine vitamin. Immune system would get modulated and inflammation in the gut would get lowered by consuming this vitamin. There are more chances of getting inflammatory issues like IBD and IBS etc when there is lack of this vitamin. Various examples of foods rich in vitamin D are fortified dairy products, egg yolks, fatty fishes etc.
