The corridors of the Sabarimala Lord Sri Ayyappan temple are set to reopen tomorrow, Saturday, 30th January, for the Makara Vilakku Poojas.

The annual Mandala Poojas, spanning 41 days at the Sabarimala Lord Sri Ayyappan temple, concluded on Wednesday, 27th December. Following this, the temple corridors were closed. In response to this, the Thiruvithankur Dewasam Variyam (TTB) has issued a notification stating that the corridors of the Sabarimala Lord Sri Ayyappan temple will reopen tomorrow (Saturday, 30th December) for the Makara Vilakku Poojas.

The climactic Makara Vilakku Pooja event is scheduled for the 15th of January, 2024. Preceding this significant event, various other rituals and poojas are slated for the 13th and 14th of January.

During the Makara Vilakku Pooja, the idol of Lord Sri Ayyappan will be adorned with special jewelry, and Deeparadhanai will be performed.
It is further conveyed that the corridors of the Lord Sri Ayyappan temple in Sabarimala will remain open until the 20th of January, 2023.

On the day of Mandala Pooja, which took place on Wednesday, 27th December, the idol of Lord Sri Ayyappan was adorned with a divine golden coat. On this auspicious occasion, thousands of devotees had the Darshan of Lord Sri Ayyappan!
