The Divine Jewellery fort eh idol of Lord Sri Ayyappan was sent by the royal family to Sabarimalai yesterday (Thursday, 12th January).
The sacred festival of Makara Jothi is scheduled to be performed tomorrow (Saturday, 14th January) on this occasion, the Police Department has imposed several restrictions and regulations on the devotees!
Right from day-before-yesterday (Wednesday, 12th January) a large number of devotees have settled in small hutments and stayed for the Makara Jothi Darshan tomorrow (Saturday, 14th January)! As it is expected more and more devotees will gather in these 2 days, the Police Department has imposed various restrictions/regulations on the devotees!
As per these regulations/restrictions, the devotees can move from Pampai to the Sannidhanam for the Makara Jothi Darshan ONLY UNTIL NOON TOMORROW (SATURDAY, 15TH JANUARY)!
Devotees arriving after Noon tomorrow will be permitted to climb the mountain only in the early morning on 15th January!
On the occasion of the Makara Jothi Darshan, it has been estimated by the Police that 25000 devotees on the Pandithavanam and 3000 devotees in the temple surrounding areas can stand and have Darshan of the Makara Jothi! In places where more crowd of devotees are expected, the Police is set to give instructions/directions to the excess crowd of devotees through megaphones!
NOTE THAT THE VISITING DEVOTEES MUST NOT COOK IN THEIR TEMPORARY RESIDENCES! A FENCE OF BARRIERS WILL BE SET UP FOR PREVENTING THE DEVOTEES FROM JUMPING UP AND MOVING!
