The temple corridors of the Sabarimalai Lord Sri Ayyappan are scheduled to be opened today (Friday, 30th December) for the celebration/performance of Makara Vilakku Pooja.
Earlier, the Mandala Vilakku Pooja was performed at the Sabarimala Lord Sri Ayyappan temple with great pomp and enthusiasm with lakhs of devotees and concluded and the temple corridors closed on 27th December.
In this situation, following the celebration/performance of the Mandala Pooja, the sacred Makara Vilakku Pooja is scheduled to be performed on 14th January. For the occasion of the sacred Makara Vilakku Pooja, the temple corridors of Lord Sri Ayyappan temple are to be opened today (Friday, 39th December) at 5.00 PM.
From tomorrow (Sunday, 31st December), the usual Neyyabhishekham will be performed in the early morning at 3.00 AM and then Ucha Poojai and Kalababhishekham will be performed!
The corridors will be closed at 1.30 PM and opened again at 3.00 PM. . Subsequently, Deeparadhanai, Pushpabhishekham and special prayers will be performed and the temple corridors will be closed at 11.30 PM.
Makara Vilakku Poojai and Makara Jothi Darshan are scheduled to be performed on 14th January. During this Makara Vilakku Pooja period, no more than 90000 devotees will be allowed daily! The devotees can book this in advance!
Sabarimalai Dewaswom Board has informed that the temple corridors will remain open from today (Friday, 30th December) until 20th January 2023.
