Especially for the important festive occasion of Deepavali, 200 special buses are to be operated on behalf of the Vellore Zone of the Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation Vellore Division.
As per the officials, these special buses will operate from 21st October until 23rd October for 3 days!
Deepavali is scheduled to be celebrated on 24th October. For this occasion, breadwinners of families who work outside their native districts, plan to visit their native places with their families to celebrate and enjoy the festival of Deepavali!
As such, severe crowd congestion for travel occurs during the 3 days before and after Deepavali for travel! To reduce this acute shortage, special buses are usually operated before and after Deepavali.
The buses meant to operate from Vellore to Chennai Metro City will be operated only up to Poonamallee temporarily! 30 special buses will be operated from Poonamallee to Thirupathur via Vellore and 30 special buses will operate up to Gudiyatham and 15 special buses will operate up to Arcot.
Arrangements have been made to operate 45 special buses from Poonamalle to Vellore, 10 from Vellore to Trichy, 10 special; buses from Chennai to Trichy, and 15 special buses each for Vellore to Bangalore, Vellore to Hosur, and Poonamallee to Hosur, 25 special buses from Poonamallee to Dharmapuri. Thus, 200 special buses are being arranged!
Transport Corporation Officials have appealed to the public to avail of these special buses to the maximum extent! Further, reservation for booking tickets from Vellore to Kanyakumari, Vellore-Thirunelveli, and Vellore to Coimbatore is in full swing!
Officials informed us that all seats have been booked in most of the special buses!
